COMPARING RICHMOND: THE JOURNEY AHEAD

Matthew B. Davey, also known as DJ mFace, will begin a 26-day tour across the South and Midwest in support of local Habitat for Humanity affiliates.

The “Southern Gentleman Tour” kicks off in Richmond on Sunday, July 7 at Buddy’s Place and comes full circle on Aug. 1 at the Capital Ale House Music Hall.

Performing will not be the only thing Davey does with his time on tour; he will also be studying ABC laws and tourism in the cities he visits. Davey will be sharing his experience with regular updates on Richmond.com.

“I am very excited about this opportunity to raise money for local Habitat for Humanity affiliates and learn from the cities on the tour,” said Davey. “Ever since I chose to work with Habitat last fall, the local affiliate has been a philanthropic joy for me and their mission aligns with my dreams to help make Richmond a better community.”

Davey has previously supported the Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity at several events including Chicks with Bricks at Legend Brewery, and the recent dedication of the Pillars at Oakmont.

Nancy Melton, vice president of development and marketing at Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity, said she appreciates all of Davey’s contributions.

“We are so grateful to Matthew for his continued support of Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity… It is truly amazing to see him combine his passion for entertaining with his commitment towards bettering the Richmond community,” Melton said.

Davey said he plans to make the tour an annual event and hopes it grows year to year.
