Oh hey gang, I'm Matthew The Bow Tied DJ for Completely Celebrated™ weddings and events. I’ve been hosting parties since I was a teenager in Richmond, Virginia. Right out of high school, I started entertaining at local bars and college parties, quickly finding a niche with sorority formals and high-energy crowds. At the same time, I worked with a live event production company, developing technical skills in sound, lighting, video, and creative design. After a few years immersed in both the performance and production sides of the industry, I entertained my first wedding in 2009 — and never looked back.

I was immediately hooked. I absolutely loved it. I loved helping couples create a once-in-a-lifetime experience. So in 2015, I started the the predecessor to Completely Celebrated: Bow Tied Weddings. The next year, we were an A-List finalist for Best Wedding DJ in Richmond Bride Magazine. We were entertaining an average of 60 weddings annually with a small team of associate DJs until 2020, when I shifted the focus toward intentionally crafting elevated, uniquely tailored wedding celebrations—not just in Virginia, but across the Southeast and beyond. This evolution ultimately led to the rebrand to Completely Celebrated in 2024, and in 2026 we were honored with the Diamond Award for Best Reception DJ by Modern Luxury Weddings Atlanta.

When I’m not entertaining weddings and events, I’m out exploring with my wife Elizabeth (an incredible wedding photographer who you should definitely check out 😉). You’ll usually find me chasing challenges — training for half marathons, hiking new trails, or traveling with our two dogs. We’re always up for a challenge, whether that’s solving an escape room or finding the best coffee in a new city. And when football season hits, you’ll catch me cheering on the Atlanta Falcons at the Benz.
