Richmond Staycations

As someone who’s spent years helping couples celebrate their biggest day, I’ve always believed in keeping the celebration going long after the vows are said. That’s why I created Bow Tied Concierge—a boutique planning service offered exclusively to the amazing couples who’ve booked me as their wedding DJ.

Here’s the gist:

  • If you’re a current Bow Tied couple, I’ll plan your bachelorette or bachelor weekend—from lodging and activities to those unforgettable little surprises.

  • If you’re one of my past couples, you get the same kind of VIP treatment—but with a romantic twist, perfect for anniversaries or special getaways with your boo.

And yes—we’ve already had our very first Bow Tied Concierge weekend. Let me tell you how it all went down.

How It Started

Ashley and Candace got married in October 2017, but our story started way before that. We actually met by chance at a bar while they were still engaged. Some fireball may have been involved. I handed them a koozie, they looked me up, and the rest was history—they booked me for their big day, and we’ve been friends ever since.

Over the years, we’ve shared birthdays, holiday parties, and their legendary “Boos & Booze” Halloween bash. So when I launched Bow Tied Concierge, I knew they’d be the perfect couple to experience it first. And naturally, they were all in.

Let the planning begin

We kicked things off with a couple of fun planning chats—over drinks, of course. Even though I knew them well, I asked plenty of questions about what they were hoping for on their weekend together. They wanted a walkable location, brewery tours, a little adventure, and great food.

Once I had the details, I got to work—emails, phone calls, a little scheming—and even added a tablet into the mix to create a full digital concierge experience.

What Was Booked

For walkability and wow-factor, I secured them the Loft Suite at Quirk Hotel—the same one featured on The Bachelorette in 2018. Normally priced at $489 per night, my relationship with Quirk landed it for just $209 a night. Yes, perks are part of the package.

To kick off the weekend, I booked them dinner at Max’s on Broad and called ahead to cover their first round of cocktails—because I like my couples to feel a little boujee. After dinner? Well, let’s just say they had so much fun they skipped their evening plans and headed back to the suite early.

Saturday was the real showstopper. At noon, Richmond Limousine picked them up for a six-hour city adventure. First stop: RAGE RVA, where they got to smash a car and paint in a glow-in-the-dark room. (They were actually the first to do the painting activity—trendsetters!)

Then came the brewery tour, with stops at Triple Crossing and Hardywood, two Richmond staples. I mapped the whole route with breaks in between so they could soak in the limo experience—and the craft beer.

They ended their day with dinner at Southern Kitchen in Jackson Ward. Shane, the owner and an old friend of mine, made sure they were well taken care of. Word is, they had such a good time, brunch the next morning was... optional. (Spoiler: they chose sleep.)

What it Would have cost

Here’s the fun part. If Ashley and Candace had booked this entire weekend on their own—hotel, food, limo, activities—the total would have come out to $3,256.

Thanks to the relationships I’ve built and a 50% discount on my concierge fee for this inaugural experience, they paid $1,819. That’s a savings of $1,437—not bad for a curated weekend of luxury, adventure, and zero planning stress.

Is this For You?

Ashley and Candace needed a break from the “new normal” of pandemic life—and honestly, who doesn’t? Whether you’re craving something low-key and romantic or high-energy and offbeat, I’ve got you.

You give me the vibe. I’ll handle the rest.

From Richmond to wherever we take Bow Tied Concierge next, these weekends are about more than just a change of scenery—they’re about connection, celebration, and giving yourself a reason to look forward to something special again.

All you have to do is show up. I’ll take care of the rest.

Special thanks to Quirk Hotel, Richmond Limo, Max’s on Broad, Southern Kitchen, and RAGE RVA for making this weekend unforgettable. Want in on the next one? Let’s chat.
