Anniversary Experiences

An Exclusive Experience for our Awesome Bow Tied Couples

In the spirit of adding more value to the friendships we hope to share with all of our awesome couples, we created an idea to help couples celebrate their anniversaries, which is a service offered exclusively to couples who booked our DJ services for their wedding. We’ll book your accommodations, activities, and we’ll plan a romantic weekend for you and your boo! And we just so happened to have our first couple tell us how their experience went down. Here’s what happened!

HOW IT STARTED

Just like when we take the time to get to know you in that very first Bow Tied Chat, get to know what you are looking for on your wedding day, we’ll take the time to get to know what you want to do for your weekend. Ashley and Candace got married back in October 2017 and our friendship started well before then when when we bumped into them at a bar while they were engaged. There’s a chance some fireball shots were had. We gave them a koozie, they looked us up, and decided to book us for their wedding. The planning process was fun and we tried to stay away from fireball. The wedding was a lot of fun and well, here’s what they had to say about it! Ever since their wedding, we’ve invited each other to birthday parties, holiday parties, and of course the Banton Boos and Booze Halloween Party that we try to never miss, even if we arrive late after a wedding. When we launched Bow Tied Concierge, we just knew they would love what we could do for them and they immediately were on board to be the first couple to try it out.

LET THE PLANNING BEGIN

So when Ashley and Candace decided on the Bow Tied Weekend to share with each other, we had a couple chats about what they had in mind. While we already knew them pretty well, we asked them a lot of questions, over drinks of course. We got an idea of what hotel they wanted to stay in, where they wanted to eat, and what they wanted to do. They had mentioned that they wanted to stay somewhere and be able to walk to restaurants, they wanted to do a brewery tour, and they wanted to do a unique activity. Once we had a good amount of notes, we got to work! In the coming weeks, we sent emails, made phone calls, and started scheming. We also bought tablets.

WHAT WE BOOKED

We tried to give them a unique experience to both Richmond and what they had in mind. They wanted walkability, so we got them the Loft Suite at Quirk Hotel. You may have seen the Loft Suite on The Bachelorette in 2018. It’s normally $489 a night, but since we have a great relationship with Quirk, they were willing to give us the room for $209 a night. You may see a trend in perks by planning a weekend with us. We got them a limousine for a trip to a rage room and a brewery tour. We made reservations at a couple restaurants nearby and called ahead to take care of their first round. Because we like our couples to feel boujee. It’s the small things.

HOW IT WENT DOWN

So the week leading up to Ashley and Candace’s Bow Tied Weekend, we made a few calls to make sure everything was in order and to make the finishing touches. We sent them an email to at least let them know how to prepare for the weekend, like what to pack. On the day they were to arrive, we sent a video message to their tablet, which was given to them when they checked in. It was loaded up with their itinerary and it provided a way for us to connect with them via Google Duo. Their first night, we booked them a reservation at Max’s on Broad for dinner, with their first round of cocktails on us. We planned a couple after dinner options for them, though apparently they decided to just go back to the room because they had a little too much fun at dinner.

Their Saturday activities were the real adventure of their Bow Tied Weekend. We had a limo pick them at Quirk at Noon. It’s normally about $700 for the 6 hour limo ride, but we got a discount. We directed Richmond Limousine to take them on a quick scenic trip through the city and then head to their first stop: RAGE RVA. Again, a discount was given to us. We set them up with about an hour of smashing and splashing.

They got to smash a car and they got to paint stuff in a dark room. And they were RAGE RVA’s first on the painting idea. Guess that makes us trendy!

Next they were to hop back in the limo and debark on their brewery tour. We plotted a trip for their limo driver, with space between stops so they could enjoy the limo.

Their next stops were a couple breweries that are staples to Richmond’s brewery scene, Triple Crossing and Hardywood. Falcon Smash and Singel are the two beers that put these two, respectively, on the map. They are also some of the first breweries in Richmond to start the trend of craft breweries. Needless to say, they enjoyed the beer!

The end of their brewery tour had their limo take them back to Quirk where they freshened up for dinner. There’s a place in Jackson Ward that is home to some of the best southern cookin’ anyone could want. Shane, the owner of Southern Kitchen, has been friends with Matthew, owner of Bow Tied, ever since she was the general manager of a restaurant in Shockoe Bottom. So naturally Matthew set up Ashley and Candace for a visit. Word is Ashley and Candace were brought a couple drinks and they had a lovely time with Shane. Apparently they had so much fun that they weren’t able to make it to the brunch we had planned for them on Sunday. Is what it is, they had a nice comfy bed at Quirk to sleep it off.

HOW MUCH DID ALL THIS COST?

Excluding the price for our services and factoring all the expenses for Hotel, Restaurants, Breweries, the Limo, and the Rage Room, this particular weekend would have had an actual cost of $3,256. With our relationships and discounts provided to us, the discount cost was $1,819. That comes to a total savings of $1,417. That’s a pretty good amount of savings for a fun weekend!

IS THIS FOR YOU?

At the end of the day, we just wanted Ashley and Candace to have a break from the normal, or in this case the new normal, since COVID-19 had pretty much cancelled all their planned adventures in 2020. We genuinely love doing things for people we love, and well, we love all of our awesome couples, so there’s that. And while Ashley and Candace wanted to do a rage room and get a little boozie, we can certainly accommodate any adventure you want. Richmond, and the many places we plan to offer these services, have so much to offer. And well, we can deliver it to you, stress free. You won’t have to plan a thing. All you have to do is give us an idea of what you want and show up. We’ll take care of it!

Special thanks to Quirk, Richmond Limo, Max’s on Broad, Southern Kitchen, and Rage RVA.
