Level Up your Dance Party

There are sooo many DJs out there. Like so many! But there aren’t many Wedding DJs that offer a whole experience. And with COVID-19 forcing so many couples to reschedule their celebrations, many have opted to downsize their guest list and add value to their celebration. They are spending more per person and selecting specialty wedding professionals, rather than vendors that try to do it all. More than that, they want to form a trusting relationship with their vendor team so they know they’re in good hands should something like say, a global pandemic, throw a wrench in their plans. So naturally we decided to step up, add more value to our services, and be the go-to Wedding DJ + Coordinator service that couples can trust.

The evolution of Bow Tied Weddings™ started simply as the fun loving DJs in bow ties, filling a void of much needed charm to weddings. Throughout the years, we have learned from each and every wedding, found ways to improve our offerings, and elevate the experience we provide our couples. The largest take-away we have come to know, is that couples really want to form a tight bond with their key wedding professionals and share in an enduring experience. With that in mind, we try to create that exact relationship from the very first Bow Tied Chat. Here are just some of the ways we do that now.

Last year, we had so many couples reduce their guest counts from 150 people to just 50 people. We knew that we were going to have to adapt to the change and find ways to make those intimate moments on the dance floor less… let’s just say awkward. So we experimented. Matthew started offering to come visit couples at their rehearsal celebration. The idea was to get to know the wedding party, know songs they wanted to hear, and their expectations, so that the next day there was an established comfort level with the whole crew. What ended up happening was a not-at-all awkward, socially distanced, all out dance party. Following up with couples after their wedding, we got a lot of great feedback on this idea and have since included it in our Experiences.

That’s just one way we added value to our services. For us, COVID-19 forced us to make some hard decisions with our budget. When we realized that much of this year was going to be taken up by rescheduled celebrations, we decided to keep our advertising budget low (which we were forced to cut early in the pandemic) and instead invested what we could on equipment upgrades. We’ve bought more speakers, upgraded our microphones, and all-black DJ booths for a cleaner appearance.

Another value add ties in with our newly created and entirely separate service, Bow Tied Concierge, which is a planning service for romantic weekends and bach parties. The tie in goes back to the previously mentioned Diamond Experience. When you book the Diamond Experience, not only do you get Matthew’s experience of 200+ weddings and entertainment expertise, you also get a complimentary concierge service. We’ll help with any entertaining ideas leading up to the big day and act as additional coordinator on wedding day. And if you book us separately for your bach party, we will basically be your hype team from then on!

Our final value add, again with the Diamond Experience, is our white glove service. Establishing a trusting relationship with our couples is not only high on our priority list, but it also helps us do our job at a higher level. Matthew will provide unlimited communication, quarterly video chat check-ins, expert wedding advice, and a guaranteed week-day walk-through at your venue, doesn’t matter if it’s in Virginia or Louisiana. We do recommend this be done a month or so in advance and in coordination with the venue and key vendor team. This way, your vendors working together on the day of your wedding have at least met each other and established a working relationship with each other.

This is just the start of it. Bow Tied Weddings™ will continue to evolve and adjust to changing circumstances. We will continue to add value to our service and strive to be the best of the best, and provide a luxury service to each and every couple, and to the vendors we work with as well. At the end of the day, we hope to form a relationship with our couples that long endure past their wedding celebration.
